River Cup Videos
One of the most popular parts of every River Cup weekend is the Annual Banquet and Business Meeting held on the Saturday evening between Friday's fourball matches and Sunday's singles matches. Many River Cuppers and their wives, in fact, are convinced that the Friday and Sunday matches are merely an excuse to get together for a great party on the Saturday evening in between. River Cup Studios, a wholly owned entertainment subsidiary of the River Cup, spares no expense in putting together a video which is presented at each year's Business Meeting to capture the history and excitement of the River Cup. By popular demand, videos from past years are now available here.
1994 River Cup
In this first installment of the legendary River Cup video series, Langdon Moss of Willow Oaks Country Club announces John Leitch's induction to the River Cup Hall of Fame. Also, Moss goes on site to introduce the new location of the River Cup Hall of Fame & Museum and explains why the site was chosen.
1996 River Cup
In this first appearance of Will "Brother" Scott as the Instructional Editor for the River Cup, Brother provides instruction on making the all-important short putt. This video was shot the year after Brother missed a short putt on the 18th hole during a critical fourball match in a CCV loss.
1999 River Cup
The weather forecast for the final round of singles matches in 1999 called for highs in the 40's. To prepare the teams for the frigid weather, this educational "How to Dress for Cold Weather Golf" video was shown to players from both teams at the annual business meeting the evening prior to play.
2000 River Cup
The River Cup Hall of Fame & Museum contains many rare artifacts from the River Cup. The building also serves as the dental office of long time River Cupper Jeffrey Hudgins. In the video, Dr. Hudgins gives us a first hand look at some of the exhibits as he tours the site with Trustees Paul Sinclair and Langdon Moss. While growing up, Moss' father, a physician, maintained his practice in this building and the family lived in the second floor living quarters.
2001 River Cup
Tommy Pruitt prepared for the 2001 River Cup by spending several thousand dollars and several days at the Dave Pelz Short Game School in Florida. The inimitable Will "Brother" Scott plays Tommy in this video showing the results of the effort.
2002 River Cup
River Cup Instructional Editor Will "Brother" Scott returns in this 2002 video. In this edition of his instructional series, Brother gives some tips on driving the golf ball.
2008 River Cup
A new feature in the 2008 River Cup has Langdon Moss doing on-course interviews as fourball matches finish up on the 18th hole at Willow Oaks. This video captures Cabell Moore being struck on the 18th green with a ball hit from the 9th hole. Anyone who can identify the offending golfer portrayed in this video should contact the law firm of Dewey Cheatham & Howe, attorneys for Cabell in a potential lawsuit.
