The 6th - Heathery Out, 374 yards
A straightaway par 4 with the Coffins bunkers located off the left side of the fairway. The green is shared with the twelfth hole and requires a long second shot because of the stiff wind in your face.
Drive to the left of the marker post to avoid seven bunkers up the right. The dip in front of the green is deceptive. It is better to be long than short. The green has a gentle slope from the right.
The name derives not from the rough, but from the condition of the green in the eighteenth century, which then consisted of earth, heather and shell fragment!
Big John says....
For the best line for your second shot go ten yards right of the marker stick this will leave you with a short iron to a green that slopes away from you. So don't be afraid to hit past the flag as this will leave you with an uphill putt.
