The 11th - High Hole In, 172 yards
One of the most famous holes in all of golf, this most difficult of par 3s has been copied by architects worldwide. Two steep bunkers - Strath and Hill - guard the right and left side of the green, which slopes drastically from back to front. It is not uncommon for a downhill putt to role off the green and into Strath.
A famous short hole guarded in front by Strath bunker (3). Beyond the green is a steep bank clad in savage rough. Club selection is all important and can vary from a 6 iron to a 3 wood depending upon wind. The green has a variety of draws but the trend is markedly up from front to back. You are unlikely to be left with an easy putt.
The Stone front of the tee is one of the markers placed to delineate the course around 1777. In olden times the Eden flowed hard against the back of the green.
Big John says....
This is the classic par 3, club selection is very important try to be left of the Strath bunker (small one in front of the green). Take care with your putt as this green tends to be one of the fastest on the course.
