Alright, now we come to a birdie hole. Pretty short par-5. A good drive gives you a chance to go for it in two. Pretty long odds on that, usually, though. That pond in front makes it all carry. I'm gonna lay up on my second shot here every time, I don't care how well I hit my drive. That crooked little tree on the left side of the fairway there is the "go 'fer" tree - get it out to that tree and you may want to go 'fer it. Hit your Burner and see what happens. <snap> Oh geez, where is this coming from? You snapped that one right over by the 17th tee. No go in two now. Shouldn't be too much trouble laying up from over there though. Let's see what we got. <walk, walk, walk>
Well this is not a pretty lie. Down in that bermuda rough pretty deep, a little sidehill lie. You need to hit something about 170 yards to get in position for your third shot to the green, so pull out your 6-iron. <thwack> Yeah, I was afraid of that. Sliced that baby off that stance, now you've got those trees over there to contend with. <walk, walk>
Blocked out, shit. Well you can either knock it back out sideways or try to snake it through those trees there, but you got that pond there still. Hit a tree and you're wet, hit it through and you might put it on. I'd play it safe and hope for a pitch and one putt for par. Agree? Good. Take your lumps again. <tap> Smartly done, that leaves us a 90 yard pitch across the pond. Flagstick's in a good spot, might get our par the hard way here. <walk> Get that p-wedge out and smooth it on. <click> Safely in the middle, good shot. <walk>
20 feet, let's finish up here and get on with it. <roll> Oops, little weak there Alice. Right in the heart if you got it there. Tap it in. <tap> Bogie. Let's see here, 4 over. A-climbing we will go. <walk, walk, huff, puff> Man, I wish they had an escalator up the hill to this 9th tee. This is about the longest walk between green and tee and it's a steep climb back up to the elevation we started out at. Catch your breath here and pull out the Burner one last time. <gasp, gasp>
