Kinsale, tiny fishing village on the way to Old Head, known as the culinary capitol of Ireland.

Security gate to the Old Head Golf Links through bus window. Vehicles must pass through the guard gate to enter golf complex.

Entrance to the pro shop, bar, and restaurant.

Joe O'Hare, Keeper O'Slush, and tour guide Eamon O'Callaghan.

Working lighthouse on the cliff, visible from all parts of the course.

Action on the driving range before play.

Mark Deblois teeing off on Bream Rock, par-4 3rd hole. Be right on this hole or be dead.

Tom McCandlish at Bream Rock.

Tom McCandlish, Paul Sinclair, and Mark Deblois looking back from green at Choughs Corner, 495 yard par-5 6th hole.

Doug Bryant, Mark Deblois, Paul Sinclair, and Tom McCandlish on way to terrifying tee on Legal Eagle, a 188 yard par-3 with deep rough left and nothing but the ocean right.

Tom tries to salvage par on Legal Eagle - to no avail.

Joe O'Hare, Keith Dull, Charlie Foster, Ben Ussery on the way to 7th tee.

Same spot, different group. John Hyslop, Laura Lee Chandler (trying to keep hat on in the high wind), Ted Chandler, and Chip Clark.

Who would be crazy enough to proceed beyond the hazard lines anyway? It is straight down the cliff from here!

Wouldn't you know it - Chris Young wanted to proceed past the hazard lines. Jeff Hull uses a club to pull him to safety.

Marty and Teeta Donlan, Jeff and Mary Kay Hull. This was obviously an attractive spot for pictures!

Rod Smith, Brad Smallwood, Jim Nelson, and Wes Morck. Caves at left run all the way through the promontory and come out the other side.

Tom McCandlish holds a pose after shot on par-5 8th, God's Acre. Stones such as the one on this fairway are placed around course for aiming points.

Bob Ryan holes a short putt on par-3 16th hole.

Steve Clement, Michelle Bach, and Bob Ryan from 17th tee, looking down to 16th green.

Mark Deblois slings through from tee on Courcean Stage, 537 yard par-5 12th hole. Players can cut off as much as they like here but if the line is too far left, it is ocean bound.

Paul Sinclair in mid-swing, same hole.

GiGi "Half-Pint" Deblois in the rough next to 12th tee

Jim Nelson displays the hacker's reverse weight shift for instructional purposes.

Wes Morck tightens the coil in backswing before exploding through tee shot on 12.

Teeta Donlan looking on as tee ball on 12 sails to perfect landing area some 230 yards away.

Mary Kay Hull finishing swing, same hole.

Sinclair, Bryant, McCandlish, Deblois foursome on the 16th green.

Mark Deblois on 18th tee. Low-slung clubhouse can be seen in upper right of picture.

Tom McCandlish takes on the championship tee on the 18th. The tee shot here is across a huge chasm of the Atlantic. Do not attempt a Gary Player walkthrough off this tee unless you enjoy a 400 foot tumble down rocks to the frigid Atlantic.

Wind sock straight out in 30 knot winds on the course. Winds this day were above average, but certainly not unusual.

Looking back to 18th tee. Lighthouse and championship tee are to the right.

Tom McCandlish edged out Paul Sinclair by 2 strokes to win the 2 day Black Bush Classic. One stroke behind going into the final hole in round 2, Sinclair choked his way to a double on 18 while McCandlish struggled for bogey.

Teeta and Marty Donlan and Michelle Bach in the clubhouse bar after play.

Marty Donlan, Jeff Hull, unknown golfer, John Hyslop, and Steve Clement outside the clubhouse before boarding bus for trip to Waterford.

Nighttime in the village of Kinsale.

Wes Morck hits the ATM machine in Kinsale . . .

. . . and goes directly to the liquor store to blow his cash.

Doug Bryant and Marty Donlan picking up some fish and chips for the long bus ride to Waterford.

Doug feeds Ted "Pajama" Chandler some cod.

Laura Lee Chandler, always the shy retiring type, comes out of her shell a little after a few swigs of Black Bush.

Who, me?
