How Did He Get That Nickname?
    There is some dispute about George's nickname. Some say it is an obvious reference to his enlarged right ear. In his early youth, he was somewhat embarrassed about the enlargement and was angered by schoolmates who taunted him with jeers of "ear". After suffering bouts of depression for many years due to the cruel appellation, he eventually learned to accept the nickname with only occasional outbursts of anger.

    The more mundane (and most likely correct) explanation is much less interesting. While having a few beers in the mens' grill at CCV one afternoon, an individual who shall remain nameless (but who was apparently several beers ahead of the others in the group) noticed a piece of paper with the words "ear Moorman" on it. The paper was torn and the word "ear" was obviously the last syllable from a word on the torn off piece of the paper. But this nameless individual found this uncommonly funny and the name has stuck ever since.
